Calling All Singers!
Activities at the Church of the Intercession are getting back into full swing and that includes the Choir as well as the Doxa Ensemble.
The Choir is for anybody who loves to sing and use their voice as a gift to God. The music tends to be typical choral music (soprano, alto, bass) and a basic idea of choral music helps but is definitely not required. The music we sing also is more classical. Choir sings on the 2nd Sunday of the month
Doxa is for anybody who likes to sing more contemporary songs/hymns. Doxa prepares a prelude, meditative, and postlude for the 4th Sunday of the month. The songs are based around the readings of the day and are more upbeat and/or contemplative.
Haven't sung in a group in a group in a while? No pressure! We keep rehearsals light and fun and usually the music is beautiful and easy to put together. So if you have to miss some rehearsals we understand and you are still more than welcome!
The Sunday Schedule for these groups are as follows:
Choir will rehearse at 9:00 am on the First, Second, and Fourth Sundays
Choir sings for the 10:00 am Service on the Second Sunday of the Month
Doxa will rehearse at 9:00am on the Third Sunday of the month and meet at 9:30 am on the Fourth Sunday
Doxa sings for the 10:00 am Service on the Fourth Sunday of the month
If you like to sing then we would love to have you!
